The Apex Hoody combines the benefits of merino wool and nylon in a specialized design purpose-built for big game pursuits. The merino-nylon blend offers natural moisture and odor management as well as comfort and noise reduction while retaining great stretch for navigating technical terrain. Reinforcement in the shoulders, arms and elbows will withstand years of abuse and removable elbow pads buffer long stalks and glassing sessions on unforgiving vantages.

    I like this piece as a second layer, over a merino base layer. The base that I've been using is FL Wick. I have to say that I don't like belly pockets so I was very hesitant to buy this hoody. Turns out this was no exception, I ended up cutting the gadget pockets out to reduce the bulk a little. Same thing with the elbow pads. The pads came out right away and then the pockets got cut out after a couple of days wear. I like the grid fleece softshell component on the back of arms and shoulders. It adds a nice touch of durability and DWR. After 7 days of heavy use the merino is starting to show a little knap. The face mask is ok, it stinks pretty bad after several days of use. The hood has elastic which is a nice feature for a bow hunter as it keeps the hood tight to the face.

    Just love and if it were not so expensive I would own more than one. The merino wool fits all weather conditions as a wear alone or a sub layer. The hood and facemask (great idea) add to the versatility. It was worn everyday during the early spring turkey season.

    The Apex Hoody is everything that I expected it to be. Great feel and design. Its reinforced in the area's that you need it and the elbow pad's are a great addition. Hope to use it soon.
